DGAM_Ministry of Culture and the National Center for Visual Arts are holding an exhibition starting from Wednesday evening, 16/11/2016, titled “The Battle of Syria to Defend Its History” in the National Center for Visual Arts which is in charge of all Art issues.
The exhibition includes a number of artifacts confiscated by the Syrian Authorities and the Lebanese General Security.
In addition to a mosaic rescued by DGAM with the help of the local community from the site of “Burhlaia” in Damascus Suburbs;
it also displays a vast collection of photographs and a short documentary film revealing the extent of damage in the archaeological sites and ancient cities during the crisis, indicating the emergency protection procedures undertaken by the Directorate General of Antiquities and Museums.
DGAM thanks all those in charge of the National Center for Visual Arts for their efforts to host the exhibition organized in partnership with DGAM, which will run until 30.11.2016 m
