The competent authorities were able to find four funerary statues in one of the houses of the town of Palmyra on June 30, 2017. The statues were handed over to DGAM.

What should be noted is that the statues are well-known examples in the tombs of Palmerian, dated to the second and third centuries AD.

The retrieved statues belong to two men and two women, dressed in a well-known Palmerian style, who follow the dominant Palmerian styles of art during the 2nd and 2nd centuries..

According to preliminary observations, it is likely that they will be stolen from the tombs of the southeast cemetery,  Which has been robbed and looted several times before liberating the city from terrorist ISIS.
