A meeting was held at DGAM between Dr. Bashar Jaafari, Syrian Permanent Representative to the United Nations, and the Director General of Antiquities and Museums, Dr. Mahmoud Hammoud, during which they discussed the general situation of Syrian cultural heritage and the extent of sabotage and damage suffered by Syrian archaeological sites by terrorist gangs. It was discussed the importance of increasing  up diplomatic efforts to expose the terrorist parties, and the countries that stand with them in the destruction of Syrian cultural sites, and in the forefront of those countries Turkey, whose army is still looting and destroying the archaeological sites it occupies in the Afrin region, and all the north And the need of the international community to carry out  its historical responsibilities in protecting the Syrian heritage, which is one of the most important products produced by human civilization.

 The meeting also included the handover of some Syrian antiquities, which were sent by a Syrian lady residing in America , which were stolen from Syria and reached the world markets.
