The Directorate of Scientific Laboratories, Wood Restoration Department in the DGAM, had finished carrying out the conservation- restoration processes of the south wing facade of the “Damascene hall” at National Museum, Damascus, in the period between (1/7/2020 – 14/1/2021) .The restoration work included following measurements: cleaning the wood through the use of specific materials, reinforcing the damaged wooden layer, filling the voids and cracks with suitable paste, using colored paste for the frill, compensating for the lost colors, and finally applying a coating layer in order to protect the colored wood from damages caused by external factors.
