Opening of the Syrian Traveling Archaeological Exhibition in China titled “Wonderful Syria

As part of the Ministry of Culture’s efforts – General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums – to showcase and promote Syrian cultural heritage, a Syrian archaeological exhibition titled “Wonderful Syria” was inaugurated on the 4th of this month at the Museum of the city of Chentchen, China.

The General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums contributed 195 significant archaeological and artistic pieces from the collections of Syrian museums. The selected artifacts were carefully chosen to tell the story of Syrian civilization from the dawn of history through the historical eras up to the Islamic period, reflecting the uniqueness, diversity, and richness of Syrian cultural heritage.

This exhibition represents a culmination of the exceptional cultural relations between the Syrian and Chinese peoples, which is also reflected in Syria’s accession to the Asian Alliance for the Protection of Syrian Cultural Heritage at Risk.

Previously, the “Chinese Art Exhibitions Foundation” organized a Syrian artifacts exhibition in China that received great success and public attention, prompting the establishment of this new exhibition featuring a larger number of distinguished artifacts, set to last for a longer period.

Notably, the current exhibition will travel between the most prominent and renowned museums across China over the next two years.
